Lottery for Afterschool Program (LEAPs)

Through the Urban League of Greater Chattanooga’s LEAPs afterschool program, students participate in a variety of hands-on learning and enrichment activities designed to support academic growth, explore STEAM concepts, and strengthen interpersonal and social-emotional skills.

Students receive targeted academic support to enhance critical thinking skills and improve classroom performance. Healthy snacks are provided daily to support student well-being and engagement.

Program activities may include a structured weekly rotation of:

• Fitness and Wellness (yoga, dance, and other movement-based activities)

• College and Career Exploration (YouScience)

• Tutoring Support (Math, ELA, and additional subject areas as needed)

• STEAM-Focused Activities (including creative art and technology integration)

• Hands-on learning and educational field trips with community partners, such as the Tennessee Aquarium, Scenic City Clay Arts, etc. 

• Games, mentorship, structured physical activity, and additional enrichment opportunities.
