Lottery for Afterschool Program (LEAPs)
Through the Urban League of Greater Chattanooga’s LEAPs afterschool program, students participate in a variety of hands-on learning and enrichment activities designed to support academic growth, explore STEAM concepts, and strengthen interpersonal and social-emotional skills.
Students receive targeted academic support to enhance critical thinking skills and improve classroom performance. Healthy snacks are provided daily to support student well-being and engagement.
Program activities may include a structured weekly rotation of:
Fitness and Wellness (yoga, dance, and other movement-based activities)
College and Career Exploration (YouScience)
Tutoring Support (Math, ELA, and additional subject areas as needed)
STEAM-Focused Activities (including creative art and technology integration)
Hands-on learning and educational field trips with community partners, such as the Tennessee Aquarium, Scenic City Clay Arts, etc.
Games, mentorship, structured physical activity, and additional enrichment opportunities.
The LEAPs afterschool program is currently open to students enrolled at East Ridge Elementary, Harrison Elementary, and Woodmore Elementary.
Families with a completed application should return the application directly to their child’s school.
