We aim to recognize students for their academic achievements and reinforce the importance of personal and academic success in preparation for post-secondary education. Applications will open for the 2023-2024 school year this summer.

Connected Literacy
The Connected Literacy program is a FREE high-dosage, low-ratio tutoring program offered through a partnership with Hamilton County Schools, Tennessee Department of Education, and the Urban League of Greater Chattanooga.
Family Prosperity Initiative
By 2025, our goal is to help enable 75-100 high-potential, disadvantaged persons to improve their quality of life through the Urban League’s Family Prosperity Initiative. The FPI provides intensive case management, including wraparound support, to address family prosperity through credential attainment, coaching/mentorship, financial planning and career advancement opportunities, with the goal of lifting 100 families out of poverty by 2025.

Workforce Development
The Urban League’s Workforce Development program assists unemployed or underemployed individuals within Chattanooga. The Urban League Workforce Program aligns its services with the WIOA (Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act) in order to ensure that individuals are well equipped with the skills needed to obtain employment. These job training services will include computer training, job searching, resume building, and interview preparation. The program also provides annual hiring fairs, resume building classes, computer coding classes, and employer informational sessions.
